Travis Million Steps Down As CVEA CEO Effective August 31, 2023

Glennallen, Alaska – Copper Valley Electric Association, today, announced that Travis Million will step down from his position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective August 31, 2023.

Million, who first came to CVEA as a member of the Board of Directors, began working for the co-op as the Chief Operating Officer in 2011, then became CEO in 2020.

Travis is well known for the critical role he played in important CVEA projects like the Allison Creek Hydroelectric Project, Alyeska Intertie, and the potential Micro Modular Nuclear Reactor Project, as well as his staunch advocacy and leadership on statewide electric industry issues.

“On behalf of the board, I want to thank Travis for his valuable contributions to the members of CVEA over the past twelve years. We wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Lon Rake, CVEA Board President.

Mr. Million is leaving CVEA to accept the role of COO at Golden Valley Electric in Fairbanks, Alaska. At this time, there is no announcement regarding the process to replace Mr. Million.
