2007 Annual Meeting Highlights
CVEA’s 2007 Annual Meeting was considered extremely successful by all accounts, and the Cooperative was excited to see double the average historical attendance in both districts. In the Copper Basin there were 154 members registered with approximately 300 in attendance, and 135 members registered in Valdez with roughly 200 attending. Members and guests were provided valuable information about their electric cooperative including the cost of power, the proposed Allison Lake hydro project, wind evaluation, the Four Dam Pool, Ruralite Magazine, and the Cooperative’s financial situation. Members and guests were also given the opportunity to ask questions and provide input. Questions were asked and comments made regarding the spring snow survey, increasing hydro power, and the Allison Lake project. In addition, the 2007 CVEA Scholarship winners were announced and staff members were recognized for their extended years of service. Congratulations go to Barbara Sampson and Rosemary Lull. They were the lucky winners of the first-ever CVEA Black & Blue Beater Giveaway. Both walked away with FREE 1994 Ford vehicles. In addition, over $3,000 in fabulous prizes were given away, including $1,300 in cash! No one went home empty handed. Everyone who attended got their choice of a CVEA gift ranging from thermoses and water bottles to electrical cords. CVEA would like to thank all of the members and guests who attended this year’s meeting. We hope you found it informational and enjoyable, and we appreciate your support.
